ROING, Oct 11: The electoral literacy club (ELC) of the government model college here was launched on 8 October in a function attended by, among others, the college’s Political Science Associate Professor Dr JK Pattnaik, who is also the ELC’s nodal officer.
Dr Pattnaik apprised the participants of matters related to voter registration, electoral roll, summary revision, etc, and acquainted them with the EVM and the VVPAT.
Dwelling on issues relating to universal adult suffrage, he urged the participants to “imbibe as well reinforce the culture of participatory democracy and make the best use of ethical voting by emulating the maxim of ‘Every vote counts and no voter is left behind’.”
Faculty members, the principal in-charge, and students of the college also spoke.
