HARMUTTY, Oct 15: Two Arunachalese identified as Bengia Ape (24 years) and Kipa Nega (19 years) were killed in a road mishap here in Assam on Monday evening.
The police informed that both were riding a scooter with registration number AR-01K-9567 when they were hit by a tanker truck bearing registration number AS-07C-6345 between 5.30 to 6 PM at Harmutty.
The victims were rushed to the hospital at Harmutty right after the accident, but were declared dead.
The police detained the tanker driver immediately.
The Capital Complex police informed that they are in touch with the officer-in-charge of Laluk to ensure all possible help to the family members of the deceased.
Sources informed that Ape and Nega were returning after appearing an open examination with its exam centre at Harmutty, Assam.
