APCC questions govt on APSCW

ITANAGAR, Oct 19: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has demanded rectification of the irregularities in formation of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) at the earliest.
“The government should not shame the women leaders who had fought to bring the APSCW in the state and who are fighting with great honesty and dedication to save the APSCW from illegality, irregularity and other anomalies,” it said.
The APCC further said that the state government’s delay in rectification is hindering justice delivery to girls and women in the state.
The continuous silence maintained by the government once again confirms the absolute illegality committed by the state government, the Congress said.
The absence of prompt response to the APSCW issue by the state government is a serious misdemeanour, it added.
