Hundreds sign ‘clean election’ campaign

NAHARLAGUN, Oct 19: Over 100 people signed the ‘clean election’ campaign launched by the Nyishi Baptist Church Council (NBCC) at its church premises in Model Village, here on 19 October.
The NBCC informed that the movement began in 2014, but was given a formal launch today.
Special invitee, Rajiv Gandhi University Professor of Political Science, Nani Bath appreciated the move by the NBCC and said that this movement should be supported by all, including all religious groups and denominations.
Many other religious leaders from different denominations, such as Pentecostal, Catholics were present.
Arunachal Christian Forum general secretary Toko Teki also cited the example of Mizoram’s last general election and how the churches played an important role in that state.
The NBCC also donated Rs 1 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
