ITANAGAR, Oct 25: One Bailo Mele of Dibang Valley district has appealed to the state government to open an inquiry into alleged misappropriation and withdrawal of fund without executing works under various schemes in the district.
In a complaint letter to the chief secretary on Thursday, Mele, who is also the Dibang Valley district BJP president, alleged that the amounts sanctioned in September 2009 and July 2010 under the scheme ‘Restoration of damage of infrastructure by flood and natural calamities during 2005’ in Dibang Valley district had been “overlapped with the ongoing Matoli-Alinye PMGSY road scheme, and fund in lakhs were withdrawn by the construction firm without execution of works.”
The complainant further alleged that the construction firm withdrew over Rs 24 lakhs under the scheme ‘C/o of link road at Gipulin to Angagu road’ without execution of works under the scheme.
