ITANAGAR, Oct 25: National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) Director Prof Hrushikesh Senapaty called on Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Thursday, and the two discussed ways to ensure timely availability of NCERT books in the state.
The governor, who has been advising the state government in making the textbooks available in the schools, shared the observation he made during his tour of the districts, and stressed on the importance of NCERT books for the students.
“This year, due to concerted effort of all and prompt action from the state government, books were provided to the students,” he said.
Mishra also emphasized on vocational education, and on activating the State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT).
The NCERT’s Department of Curriculum (DCR) Head Prof Ranjana Arora, along with assistant professors from the DCS, Dr MVSV Prasad and RR Koireng, and SCERT Joint Director Moto Nyori were also present at the meeting. (Raj Bhavan)
