ITANAGAR, Oct 26: The second phase of non-cooperation movement, in the form of a pen- and tools-down strike, called by the Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP), passed off on Friday.
The CoSAAP stated in a press release that the fourth and last day of the second-phase agitation was successful all over the state as employees after signing the attendance registers did not discharge their duties.
“All districts and departments have observed the pen- and tools-down strike fully,” it said.
“In order to suppress the democratic movement and to divide the employees, the government has issued orders for deduction of one-day salary of a few employees only today, whereas all the employees have participated in the non-cooperation movement completely,” the CoSAAP claimed.
Saying it nullified the government order relating to the strike, the CoSAAP demanded immediate withdrawal of the order, and requested all the heads of departments and offices who received the order not to implement it.
