ITANAGAR, Oct 31: Doordarshan’s Very Low Power Transmitters (VLPTs), which have completed 15 years of their useful life, will be closed with effect from 15 November, 2018 in various parts of the state.
These places include Aalo, Basar, Baririjo, Boleng, Bomdila, Changlang, Chayangtajo, Daporijo, Darak, Deomali, Dirang, Geku, Gensi, Hawai, Hayuliang, Hunli, Ingkiong, Kalaktang, Khimiyang, Khonsa, Mariyang, Mechuka, Mukto, Nampong, Namsai, Palin, Raga, Roing, Rupa, Sagalee, Sangram, Seijosa, Seppa, Taliha, Tawang, Tirbin and Tuting.
This decision was taken consequent upon the approval given by Prasar Bharati Board regarding rationalization of terrestrial transmission and subsequent deliberations held in Prasar Bharati, New Delhi recently, said a release issued by Director (Engg), DDK Itanagar.
