ITANAGAR, Nov 2: The 600 mw Kameng Hydroelectric Project (HEP) will be made operational by March next, while the 110 mw Pare hydel project is in the ‘ready mode’.
Officials of the North East Electrical Power Corporation (NEEPCO), the project developer, informed this to Chief Minister Pema Khandu during a meeting here on Friday.
Informing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been enquiring about these two projects, the chief minister urged the NEEPCO officials to complete the projects within the assured timeline.
Pema assured to provide all possible help, if needed, for early commissioning of the projects.
The chief minister also stressed the need for improving the 56 km Pinjuli-Khuppi road that leads to the Kameng HEP maintained by the NEEPCO.
Officials from the Indian Army, the Border Roads Organization and the state government also attended the meeting. (CMO)
