SILUK, Nov 9: Mebo MLA Lombo Tayeng on Friday distributed CGI sheets, under the BADP, to the residents here in East Siang district.
Tayeng had distributed CGI sheets to 97 beneficiaries here on 13 September. On Friday, he distributed CGI sheets to the remaining 38 households.
Addressing the people, the MLA urged them to be “agents of positive change,” saying the Pema Khandu government was according priority to all the welfare schemes for rural development.
“Work on the roadmap to upgrade rural infrastructure is apace and focused attention is being paid to uplift the socioeconomic profile of the rural folks,” he said.
He also spoke about the benefits of the Sarkar Aapke Dwar camps being held across the state.
Tayeng highlighted the achievements in the “health insurance, income generation, agriculture and horticulture promotion, etc, schemes undertaken by the government,” and advised the government officers to ensure that better infrastructures are created during their respective tenures.
“Routine inspections should be done to keep a tab on pilferage and ensure the use of good quality materials in development works,” he said. “Durable infrastructure can only be created when proper standards are maintained in work execution.”
Prominent leader Aku Borang and GBs also spoke on the occasion.
Later, accompanied by ADC Hage Lilang, officers and others, Tayeng visited the proposed site for the upgraded police station in Mebo. (DIPRO)
