VC urges colleges to avail of MHRD benefits

RONO HILLS, Nov 17: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Vice Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha on Saturday urged the principals of all the colleges affiliated to RGU to be proactive in availing the benefits being offered by the union ministry of human resource development (MHRD) to their colleges.
Addressing the principals of the affiliated colleges during a meeting here at the university, Prof Kushwaha spoke about the MHRD’s higher education financing agency, and said it is a non-profit, non-banking financing company for mobilizing funds for higher education institutions.
The participating college principals and other officials were also briefed on the importance of NAAC accreditation, and the national institutional ranking framework of institutions and conducting training and workshops pertaining to it.
Reports on the courses and programmes being offered in the colleges, the scope of starting new courses and programmes, the condition of library and laboratory facilities in the colleges, and issues pertaining to the smooth conduct of university examinations, central evaluation, timely dissemination of data, and good practices in colleges were also presented and discussed.
The principals of DNGC Itanagar, JNC Pasighat, GC Doimukh, GC Yachuli, NE Nursing College of Health Science Nirjuli, and MLBC Namsai, along with the nodal officer of the Government Law College and the dean of the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences and others raised issues which were addressed by the university representatives.
