Solar lights installed at border villages

DAPORIJO, Dec 2: The Upper Subansiri district administration has installed 30 number of street solar lights at border village of Gelemo covering school and health centre. This has been done under Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
The administration has announced instillation of solar lights at the last border block of Taksin which does not have electricity facilities.
Further, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund of ONGC, a total of 115 Street Solar Lights were recently installed at various important locations of Daporijo town including District Hospital, Police Station, Government College Daporijo, Government Higher Secondary School Daporijo, Circuit House, Deputy Commissioner Office Complex, Singik Hall area and District Library.
Further, lights have also been installed at ADC Headquarters of Khoduka, Dumporijo, and SDO Headquarter Nacho & Taliha. This CSR scheme sponsored by the ONGC was initiated by MoS Home Kiren Rijiju.
Meanwhile, under the initiative of Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf, a reading room is being constructed at district library where solar lights will be installed to ensure proper and continuous lighting, especially for the students preparing for exam. DIPRO
