DAPORIJO, Dec 18: The second phase of the sensitization programme on women empowerment was held here on Monday under the initiative of the Upper Subansiri district child protection unit.
ICDS DD JJ Singh spoke about the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act and sexual harassment of women at workplace, while Giba block CDPO NP Siga highlighted the issues and challenges of women empowerment.
Child Protection Officer Tonia Natam spoke about the acts and provisions to safeguard the rights of women and children.
Around 60 women, including anganwadi workers, attended the programme.
