NAHARLAGUN, Dec 18: DMOs, DRCHOs and state level programme officers of the National Health Mission (NHM) participated in an ‘intensive training programme on planning, management and implementation’ at the NHM training hall here on Tuesday.
The training was organized under the DoNER ministry’s Swasth Utter Purv programme, in collaboration with the state branches of the NHM and the Indian Public Health Association. It was aimed at equipping the health administrators and programme officers with proper knowledge of programme management in order to help them implement better healthcare delivery in the state.
Health & Family Welfare Special Secretary Dr Kinny Singh urged the participants to “put their heart and mind” in implementing the ongoing healthcare projects and programmes at the grassroots level.
“The participants should make good use of the training to enhance the effectiveness of the priority programmes they are implementing, in order to improve the overall performance of the health system of the state,” she said.
Shomik Ray and Iti Kaushik from New Delhi-based Public Health Foundation of India spoke on topics of public health programme management, including SWOT analysis, stakeholders’ management, monitoring, and supportive supervision.
State IPHA president Dr Riken Rina also participated in the programme.
