DAPORIJO, Jan 2: The finals of various games and sports competitions organized as part of the Si-Donyi celebration here in Upper Subansiri district have been conducted.
Gyadu Colony won the volleyball tournament defeating TB team in the match played on 28 December at the festival ground.
In badminton, the pair of Nehru Leriak and Raja Bayor defeated Takam Yolu and Taji Tamin in the men’s double final, which was held at Singhik Hall on 30 December.
Jage Doni and Yapak Nasi defeated Meenu Mara and Loki Doyom to win the women’s double title.
The pair of Tapik Piya and Tatu Dobin won the boys’ double title. They defeated the pair of Rajesh Bayor and Larjum Gandhi in the final.
Nyati Dobin and Bushmi Rago defeated Adam Doyom and Yakam Hanker to win the girls’ double title.
In archery competition, Nali Tamin and Tabu Dobin won the first and second prizes.
In total, 40 archers from different villages of the district participated in the competition.
In the tug-of-war competition, Tam Tadu women’s ponung team won the title defeating the Ane Yape women’s ponung team in the final.
Tam Tadu team entered into the final winning four matches consecutively.
In the men’s competition, Zym team became the winner after defeating Tam Tadu and Pato Dumpom teams.
Prizes to the winners will be given on the final day of the festival.
