YINGKIONG, Jan 10: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday informed that the government has sanctioned seven more Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV), for Kurung Kumey, Dibang Valley, Namsai, Upper Subansiri, Anjaw, West Siang and Upper Siang districts.
He said this during his visit to inspect the under-construction VKV in Ramsing village here in Upper Siang district.
Speaking at a function held in the VKV’s premises, the CM thanked the villagers for donating land for the school, and commended the quality work being carried out for the school, which is being constructed with a fund of Rs 3 crore.
Acknowledging that the school needs infrastructure including the principal’s quarters, staff quarters, a boundary wall, a science lab, an auditorium, etc, Pema promised to sanction an additional fund of Rs 8 crore within the current fiscal.
He urged the executing department to carry out the work “on a war footing, so that the new school building is ready within this year and classes for the next academic session begin from the new building.”
At present the school is being run from a temporary site. (CMO)
