Papum Pare win state level basketball tournament

JULLANG, Jan 11: Papum Pare won the first state level basketball tournament, beating Kra Daadi 60-43 in the final played here on Thursday.
West Kameng finished in third position.
The awards for the most valuable player of the tournament and the final match were won by H Ndang of West Kameng and Kipa Yullo (26 points) of Papum Pare district, respectively.
Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) Chairman Bamang Tago, who attended the closing function, assured the Arunachal Pradesh Basketball Association (APBA) of the SAA’s support for promotion of basketball in the state.
Earlier, APBA president Donyi Ori Eshi appealed to the SAA and the Arunachal Olympic Association to support the APBA for promotion of the sport and for creating more opportunities for the basketball players of the state.
Ten districts had participated in the tournament, he informed.
