CHANGLANG, Jan 23: Police on Wednesday arrested an extortionist near the police station here in Changlang district with cash and suspected brown sugar.
The arrested person, identified as one Jatkhom Kungkho, had reportedly been extorting money in the name of the NSCN (IM) from the shopkeepers of Changlang market, reports DIPRO.
During interrogation, Kungkho disclosed that he is an over ground worker and had been extorting money for his organization. He also admitted his involvement in drug peddling, the report said.
