DA committed to improve schools: Dhawan

NIRJULI, Jan 25: Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan said the administration is doing its best to improve the overall condition of the schools in the capital complex.
He said this in his address at the 45th anniversary celebration of the government secondary school (GSS) here on Friday.
Dhawan said three contractual teachers have been posted to the GSS under the CMSSY “to aid the gap of science and maths teachers,” adding that 400 plus teachers from various schools recently underwent training conducted in collaboration with the Azim Premji Foundation, Avanti Fellows, and the ALS IAS.
“Basic needs of the schools, like whiteboards, water filters, etc, have also been distributed to all the schools,” he said.
The DC urged the school’s teachers to act as a guiding force for the students, and exhorted the students to work hard to achieve big in life and give back to the society.
Dhawan also gave away the prizes to the winners of various competitions that were held as part of the celebration, and inspected the facilities at the school. (DIPRO)
