BJP leader Tarh Hari seeks separate district for Sagalee

TORU, Jan 30: BJP leader Tarh Hari said that “Sagalee assembly constituency deserves to be declared as a separate district as the area is still very backward despite its close proximity to the state capital.” He said this on Wednesday while addressing a party rally here in Papum Pare district.
“There are three circles which still do not have all-weather roads. During the monsoon season, vehicles cannot reach Silsango and Mengio circles and people have to walk miles to reach their villages,” said Hari.
He also expressed concern over the poor condition of the BRTF road, which connects Pitapool in Lower Subansiri district with Toru area.
“The road is in pathetic condition. Similar is the condition of roads from Sagalee to Mengio via Pareng and Silsango and from Yazali to Mengio,” he added.
In his address, Papum Pare district BJP in-charge Dr Ligu Tacho said party leaders need to interact with the workers, and the activists have to start work at grassroots level for strengthening the party.
Former MLA Taba Hania, former ZPM Tarh Phasang, Papum Pare district BJP general secretary Tana Ita Tara, district political affairs committee chairman Techi Lania Tara, senior leader Tana Sona Tara and Teshi Sony also motivated the party workers.
Earlier, a motor rally was organized by the party, wherein hundreds of vehicle passed though Leporiang, Sagalee and Toru circles shouting slogans in favour of the ruling government, headed by Pema Khandu in the state and Narendra Modi at the Centre.
