JIA, Feb 1: RWD Minister Bamang Felix on Friday inspected the source and site for a solar-based lift water supply system for Jia, Bolung and Bukkong areas at Jia village in Lower Dibang Valley district.
When completed, the project will meet the drinking requirement of around 6927 people living in the areas. It will be implemented at an estimated cost of Rs 2850 lakhs, reports DIPRO.
Felix advised the villagers to preserve the source of water for the project through timely clearing of debris and planting of saplings for water retention in the catchment area.
He said the villagers should think of the project as their own concept, and work toward its early completion.
“The project is a fulfillment of a dream envisioned for the development of the area and providing purified drinking water to the people of the area,” the minister said.
MLA Gum Tayeng and PWD Commissioner Bilatee Pertin accompanied the minister and also addressed the gathering.
