RGU students conduct fieldwork in Pakke-Kessang village

RILLOH, Feb 10: A team of 27 MA second semester students from Rajiv Gandhi University’s (RGU) anthropology department conducted an 18-day fieldwork here in Pakke-Kessang district recently.
The team was led by assistant professors Radhe Amung and Dr Md Asghar.
On 8 February, the team conducted an outreach programme at the government middle school here as a gesture of gratitude to the people of Rilloh village for their cooperation throughout the fieldwork. More than 50 people, including gaon burahs and teachers, attended the programme, which featured drawing and quiz competitions and career counselling.
The students of the anthropology department also presented a dance and a skit on the importance of education, health and hygiene, and on eradication of child marriage and polygamy.
