Startup India campaign conducted

PASIGHAT, Feb 12: The Startup India Yatra vehicle with experts on board arrived here in East Siang district on Monday and held a campaign at JN College to create awareness on the government’s initiatives to promote young entrepreneurs.
Startup India is an initiative of the central government. Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on 15 August, it aims to promote innovation and development or improvement of products, among other things.
It is a flagship scheme initiated by the Centre with the aim of building a system that is conducive to the growth of startup businesses.
In Arunachal Pradesh, the campaign was launched by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in Itanagar on 7 February.
Attending the programme here, MP Ninong Ering said, “Chief Minister Pema Khandu is facilitating the campaign in the state to give entrepreneurship avenues to the unemployed youths who desire to excel in life by taking advantage of the government-sponsored schemes.”
Startup India official Guneet Malik, who is supervising the campaign in the state, said the campaign aims to “catalyze the vast entrepreneurial talent present in the small cities of the country and build a strong ecosystem that is conducive to the growth of startup businesses.”
JN College Principal Dr Milorai Modi, local entrepreneurs, faculty members and students of the college attended the programme.
