INDORE, Feb 15: Senior opthalmologist Dr Lobsang Tsetim has been awarded the prestigious ‘International Opthalmic Heroes of India’ award by the All India Opthalmological Society during its annual conference held here in Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
Dr Tsetim was among 52 Indian doctors to have received the award this year. The award is given to Indian opthalmologists who perform outstandingly in the international arena.
Dr Tsetim had won the ‘International Eyes Heroes’ award from the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness at Durban in South Africa in 2016, and in the following year he won the BMJ South Asia award in New Delhi.
Dr Tsetim works at Rama Krishna Mission Hospital in Itanagar, and is known for delivering eye care services at the doorsteps of the needy through outreach screening and surgical camps.
