ITANAGAR, Mar 3: The Arunachal Students’ Federation, the All Monpa Youth Organisation, the All Capital Complex Government Register Contractor Organisation and the Arunachal People’s Front in a representation to state BJP president Tapir Gao have called for cancellation of the state BJP meeting proposed to be held here on 5 March.
The organizations expressed reservations over the holding of the party’s meeting, saying “various issues concerning the recent PRC agitation are yet to be settled.”
“The announcement made for payment of ex gratia by the chief minister to the deceased families and injured persons is not settled as yet. There are demands for payment of compensation against the damage of private and public properties caused during the protest,” they said.
The organisations said the Assam Artistes Forum has also taken out a rally, demanding compensation for the damage of their properties and musical instruments at IG Park, Itanagar, during the Statehood Day celebration.
“These issues are yet to be addressed,” they said.
The organisations said the people of the capital region are “emotionally troubled” due to the recent chaos and the death of three youths during the anti-PRC agitation.
“The people of the state are angry with the wrong policies of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy CM Chowna Mein. Keeping in mind the mood of the state, this party meeting should be avoided for now,” they said.
