Cong says will continue movement until CM resigns

ITANAGAR, Mar 4: The Congress party on Monday said it would continue with its movement against the government until Chief Minister Pema Khandu resigns from his post.
Addressing a joining programme of the party at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan here, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Takam Sanjoy demanded an inquiry into recent and past incidents in the state involving the killing of people by security forces, as well as the various scams, and sought the resignation of the chief minister.
Seeking immediate inquiry into the scams and shootings, Sanjoy said, “We are ready to be jailed. Even if I am not jailed, someone else certainly will be. No one can escape it. The fact that you are the chief minister today does not mean you cannot go to jail tomorrow.”
He said the constitution is equally applicable to everyone, and cautioned, “Do not assume that there will be no inquiry after two months when the issue cools down.”
Newly-joined INC leader Yumlam Achung said the party’s ideology is “welfare of the common people, unlike that of others, and the pulse of the state can be well understood only by the Congress.”
Congress Legislature Party leader Takam Pario along with a large number of Congress workers was present on the occasion, during which several new members joined the INC.
