Mithun vaccination camp organized by NEIDA

KIMIN, Mar 6: The officials of North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA), an associate organization of Tata Trusts, conducted a mass Mithun vaccination against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) as part of its livelihood promotion programme at Upper Jumi village here in Papum Pare district on 5 March.
In total, sixty-eight Mithuns were vaccinated during the camp.
Mithun farmers were also educated on medication and other related veterinary care.
While inaugurating the vaccination camp, Project Associate Dr. Kesang Yeshi Tukshipa lauded the efforts of the farmers in conservation of community forest lands through Mithun rearing.
He advised the villagers to opt for scientific method of rearing MIthuns and regular vaccination of their animals as FMD causes severe economic losses to the Mithun farmers in hilly regions of Northeast.
NEIDA has been implementing the “Integrated promotion of Livelihood in Arunachal Pradesh Phase – I” project since July 2015 at the Kimin, Doimukh and Yachuli blocks.
