SLSC meeting on DRRP held

ITANAGAR, Mar 6: A State Level Standing Committee (SLSC) meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Satya Gopal was convened here on Wednesday at the CS Conference Hall to discuss the District Rural Road Plan (DRRP) upon which Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-II (PMGSY-II) will be based.
The selection of roads under the DRRP will constitute the basis for all planning exercises of the PMGSY-II.
Considering the significance of the DRRP, Chief Secretary suggested that the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Departments should be included during the whole process of the DRRP finalization in the district level.
After detailed deliberation it was decided that the road plans should come through proper channel from the concerned Deputy Commissioners of the district after proper vetting by following laid down guidelines. Stressing on a balanced development of all the 60 constituencies of the State, the CS asked the Rural Works Department to include road plans of all the constituencies in the DRRP.
