Bar assn to extend pen and tool down strike

SEPPA, Mar 12: The East Kameng District Bar Association (EKDBA) has on Tuesday announced to extend its pen and tool down strike from 12 to 31 March at the chief judicial magistrate court-cum-civil judge (senior division) here in East Kameng district.
The EKDBA had earlier declared pen and tool down strike from 28 February to 6 March demanding the state government for early disbursement of long pending bills of the public prosecutors.
In a letter to the secretary Law and Judicial, the EKDBA informed that the strike has been announced following non- fulfilment of the long pending grievances of East Kameng district penal lawyers.
It has urged the state government, and the Law & Judicial and Home departments to take urgent steps to address their grievances, which include immediate release of public prosecutor/ PP pending bills with outstanding bills, allocation of Rs 20 lakhs every year as public prosecutor bill, appointment of regular public prosecutor at Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Seppa, East Kameng district and establishment of additional district and sessions court at Seppa.
