BASAR, Mar 18: Over 300 members of various self help groups (SHG) under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) participated in a mega credit camp drive at the town club hall here on Saturday.
During the credit camp organized by the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM), in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB) & State Bank of India (SBI), the APRB and SBI disbursed a total loan amount of Rs 14.30 Lakhs to 13 SHGs under DAY-NRLM.
Basar ADC Hento Karga, ArSRLM CEO-cum-SMD Tabin Siga, Chief Manager Lead Bank, SBI, Arup Aich, senior scientist cum head, ICAR-KVK CS Raghav and others attended the camp.
In his address, Karga spoke about the importance of SHGs and its federation for overall development of the community, while the ArSRLM CEO-cum SMD exhorted the SHGs to maintain financial discipline for better relations with financial institutions.
The participants were also given an overview of financial inclusion framework with focus on ensuring a repayment through community-based recovery mechanism by ‘bank sakhi’ deployed in the respective bank branches.
