ZIRO, Mar 24: The Lower Subansiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) recently conducted training programmes for farmers at three different locations of the district.
On Saturday, 40 farmers participated in the programme conducted at Lempia village, where agronomy scientist Yowa Nunu trained the farmers on scientific cultivation of capsicum, horticulture scientist Dr SK Chaturvedi on scientific cultivation of king chilli, and soil science scientist Dr Hage Munth on preparation of vermi-compost for organic nutrient management of vegetables.
Earlier, 42 farmers of Hari village benefitted from the training programme on 22 March. During that programme, Nunu delivered training on capsicum cultivation, while Dr Munth spoke on organic nutrient management, and Dr Chaturvedi dwelt on “application of plastic mulch for enhancing yield of vegetables and row covers to take vegetable during snowfall in winter.”
On 19 March, 30 farmers of Jath Yachuli participated in the training programme on nursery management of paddy, techniques for artificial water harvesting, and use of organic and inorganic mulches for enhancing the yield of fruits and vegetables.
