ITANAGAR, Apr 5: The seven-member delegation from the European Union (EU) which is on a visit to the state enumerated the opportunities of research funding and collaboration offered in Norway, Italy, France, Belgium and Denmark in the form of research projects, publications and doctoral and post-doctoral research programmes, and advised the state’s research students to avail the opportunity.
The members of the delegation said this during their visit to the Northeast regional centre of the GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment & Sustainable Development (GBPNIHESD) here on Friday.
The delegation, led by Tania Friederichs, is in the state to explore the potential areas of research collaboration between India and the EU.
Friederichs explained the ‘Horizon 2020’, which is a seven-year programme of the EU Research & Innovation Framework, which started in 2014 and is open to the world, in diverse research areas.
The delegation commended the research activities undertaken by the GBPNIHESD, and assured to facilitate future collaboration with global scientists working in similar research areas.
