RUKSIN, Apr 25: Over 900 people availed free medical services on Thursday, the first day of a ‘mega medical camp’ being organised here by the East Siang district health department under the Mukhya Mantri Rogi Kalyan Kosh.
Deputy Commissioner Kinny Singh inaugurated the camp, in the presence of Bakin Pertin General Hospital Joint Director Dr D Raina, DMO Dr Kaling Dai, MS Dr YR Darang, and Ruksin CHC In-charge Dr Kadum Jonnom.
A team of specialist doctors, consultants, nurses and paramedical staffers offered consultations and checkups in urology, general surgery, gynaecology, paediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology, etc, to the patients.
Blood pressure checkup, blood sugar checkup, etc, besides various laboratory tests were also carried out to create awareness on diabetes and hypertension.
The DC said the medical camp is being conducted with the aim of bringing awareness among those who do not have access to basic healthcare services or knowledge about the diseases they are suffering from. (DIPRO, with inputs from our correspondent)
