PASIGHAT, May 4: The East Siang district administration has asked the people to not panic and remain alert in view of cyclonic storm Fani.
However, as a precautionary measure, Deputy Commissioner Kinny Singh advised the public to refrain from venturing into the Siang river for fishing, swimming or other activities for a few days.
According to the meteorological department, moderate to very heavy rains are likely to occur in the district on 4 and 5 May.
The DC asked the officials and the departments concerned to be prepared to deal with any situation arising out of the cyclonic storm. (DIPRO)
