HIYA, May 9: Longte festival was celebrated with gaiety and fervour in Hiya village in Kurung Kumey district on Tuesday.
Addressing the revellers, capital BJP unit president Tarh Soping urged the people to promote and preserve their traditional values.
“It (tradition) needs to be protected and passed on to our younger generations for the preservation of our identity,” Soping said.
He also urged the people of the area to maintain peace and communal harmony during the election process.
