TAH stretch not completed, says assn

ITANAGAR, May 9: The Arunachal Pradesh Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) Welfare Association has lodged a complaint against Sushee Infra & Mining Pvt Ltd over incompletion of the TAH from Nechiphu to Hoj via Seppa and Pakke-Kessang.
In a representation to the chief secretary, the association said although Sushee Infra would reportedly be submitting its completion report by 30 May, only 70 percent of the work has been completed so far.
“Thirty percent of the works are yet to be done, such as new earth-cutting, construction of drainage in several parts, culverts, etc,” the association claimed.
It also said “not even a single muck disposal plant has been constructed along the roadside,” which it said resulted in damages caused by mudslides and waste soil to several agricultural lands, horticultural fields and residential areas of the villagers.
It said the stretch from Bana 1 to Pato Pani in Papu Valley in East Kameng district, and Ngoleko in Passa Valley, have been badly affected by haphazard mud dumping.
The association requested the CS to not accept the completion report being submitted by the executing agency, and urged the authority concerned to direct the highways department to prepare a proper detailed report after undertaking field visits.
