NEW DELHI, May 29: Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Birender Singh Dhanoa received the baton of Chairman of Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) from the outgoing Chairman COSC and Naval Staff Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba here on Wednesday.
ACM Dhanoa will be the Chairman COSC from 31 May consequent to relinquishment of charge by Admiral Sunil Lanba upon superannuation, said a Defence release.
He is an alumnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College and the National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the Flying Branch of Indian Air Force in June 1978, the release said.
