Mix of old and new in Khandu ministry

ITANAGAR, May 29: Five new faces, including two political debutant were inducted into Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s cabinet here at the Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre on Wednesday.
These include Mama Natung, Tage Taki and Tumke Bagra, and political debutants Taba Tedir and Nakap Nalo.
All are first-time entrants to the cabinet.
Honchun Ngandam, Wangki Lowang, Bamang Felix, Alo Libang and Kamlung Mossang were re-inducted into the cabinet.

Three of the new ministers are engineers.
The chief minister and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also took oath to continue their offices for the second term.
Portfolios are expected to be allotted to the ministers in the next few days.
None of the three women BJP elected leaders made it to the ministry making Khandu’s cabinet all male club.
Later, addressing reporters, Khandu said his government’s priority sectors would first and foremost be law and order situation, health and education sectors.
He informed that investments will be brought in to use the potential of the state and meet up with the prevailing unemployment issue.
“I assure that the BJP will run a clean and corruption-free government,” he added.
The swearing-in ceremony was also attended by chief ministers Sarbananda Sonowal (Assam), Neiphiu Rio (Nagaland), N Biren Singh (Manipur), Conrad Sangma (Meghalaya), Biplab Kumar Deb (Tripura), besides Meghalaya Home Minister James K Sangma, Nagaland DCM Yanthungo Patton, Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Arunachal East and West MPs Tapir Gao and Kiren Rijiju, and BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav, among several other top BJP leaders.
