NAHARLAGUN, Jul 2: Education Minister Taba Tedir said giving proper education to children “is an investment which makes the society healthier and strong, and creates quality citizens.”
Addressing members of the Tebw Lappa Welfare Society (TLWS) during a programme held here on Sunday, the minister also said not only the teachers but parents and society also must play their roles in providing quality education to the children.
“A good education sows the seed for a better society. However, education has to begin at home. Besides the academic education that the child receives at school, the parents will have to inculcate moral education at home,” he said.
He suggested to community-based organisations to play an important role in improving the quality of education in the state. “Learning is a continuous process, and whoever keeps learning will be successful in their lives,” the minister said.
TLWS president Tad Tana, Likabali DFO Bajum Taba Lappa, and TLWS vice president Taba Tara also spoke.
