Governing body meeting of DHS held

NAMSAI, Jul 4: The first governing body meeting of 2019-20 cum RKS coordination meeting of the District Health Society of Namsai was held on Thursday at the DC’s conference hall here in Namsai district.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Tapasya Raghav emphasized that the aim of the meeting is to make the implementation of schemes more transparent and to make the department accountable to the people.
She said that such governing body meetings shall be held regularly and also proposed holding block wise review meetings to solve issues in the block level itself.
DRCHO Dr T Yomcha highlighted the district health society’s previous year’s performance and the infrastructure and manpower needs in the district.
Assuring to offer his full support to the district health society, Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom urged the Health department to cater sincerely to the needs of people, especially those from villages, so that they do not face difficulties in availing health facilities in the hospitals.
Lekang MLA Jummum Ete Deori, administrative officers, DMO, DRCHO MOs and other medical staff also attended the meeting.
