Dem T20 Summer Cup cricket tourney begins

DEM, Jul 21: The 1st Dem T20 Summer Cup Cricket Tournament began at the general ground here on Saturday.
25 Cricket Club won by 7 wickets against Aab Tayam Sports Club in the opening match.
Eight teams are participating in the tournament, which is being organized by the Dem Literary and Cultural Society (DL&CS).
Earlier, former DL&CS chairman Likha Tasi in his address urged the participating teams to maintain team spirit, and former DL&CS general secretary Likha Raja urged youths and the people in general to “protect the environment in order to stop global warming.”
DL&CS chairman Pingam Licha urged the teams to promote the sportsman spirit, while DL&CS general secretary Likha Jamin highlighted the motto of the tournament.
The tournament was declared open with a presentation of the Rikam Pada dance by the women of Dem village.
