Sporting potential of Shi-Yomi highlighted

ITANAGAR, Jul 21: In a bid to promote games and sports in the newly-created Shi-Yomi district, a delegation of the Shi-Yomi District Olympic Association (SYDOA) led by its general secretary Tali Yorme recently called on Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) secretary-general Abraham K Techi at his office here and discussed the aims and objects of the SYDOA.
The association’s members apprised Techi of the need to provide support and assistance for the growth of games and sports in the new district.
Stating that the district is endowed with plenty of sporting talents and has the potential to do well in the national and international arenas, the SYDOA members said the need of the hour is to organise tournaments in the district to encourage its youths.
The AOA secretary-general lauded the SYDOA’s efforts to improve and promote games and sports in Shi-Yomi, and assured to extend all possible help. He also awarded the affiliation certificate to the newly-formed association.
