Jully Super 16 Football C’ship semis today

JOLLANG, Jul 22: Abu Tadar SC and Riang United completed the semifinal lineup for the Jully Super 16 Football Championship, defeating their respective opponents in the quarterfinals played at the Don Bosco School playground here.
Nyishi Ethnic Students’ of Arunachal (NESA) and United Doimukh have already entered the semifinals.
Abu Tadar SC advanced to the last four, beating Chimpu FC in the third quarterfinal played on Monday. They came from one goal behind to beat Chimpu FC 2-1.
Chimpu FC took the lead 15 minutes into the match through a goal from Sonu Tsering. Adu Tadar SC restored the parity 11 minutes later through a penalty kick taken by Tadar Kojum.
The score remained 1-1 until the 65th minute, when Tadar Kojum scored the second goal for Abu Tadar SC, which later turned out to be the match winner.
Riang United defeated Puwak- XI 4-3 in penalties after the teams ended the regulation time knotted at 1-1.
Tassar Maha (27th min) and Omak Tawe (49th min) scored the regulation time goals for their respective teams Puwak-11 and Riang United.
Both the winners (Abu Tadar SC and Riang United) will lock horns for the final berth on Tuesday at 3 pm.
The first semifinal will be played between NESA and United Doimukh at 1 pm.
