United Doimukh to play Abu Tadar SC in final
JOLLANG, Jul 23: United Doimukh and Abu Tadar SC will lock horns with each other in the Jully Super 16 Football Championship final on Wednesday.
United Doimukh stormed into the final with a 6-1 victory over Nyishi Ethnic Students’ of Arunachal in the first semifinal played at the Don Bosco School playground here.
In the second semifinal, Abu Tadar survived a scare before defeating Riang United in penalties to seal their spot in the title clash.
Riang United went ahead 59 minutes into the play with a goal scored by Omak Tawe, and were leading Abu Tadar 1-0 until the last minute. But Radar Harry scored a stunning stoppage-time equalizer at the end of the nail-biting contest.
The match went to tie-breaker after the teams were locked 1-1 at the end of extra-time. Abu Tada SC won the tie-breaker 3-1.
The final match is scheduled to be played from 2 pm.
