GUMTUNG, Jul 25: Claiming that the quality of work in the ongoing construction of the 22-km Palin-Tengri PMGSY road in Pakke-Kessang district is poor, the All Gumtung Youth Welfare Association in a representation to the RWD CE (WZ) on Thursday demanded that the “executing agency should retouch the faulty earth-cutting work at various chainages, right from Palin to Tengri, and at the same time the proposed correction work shall be carried out under our strict vigilance.”
The association said its members inspected the road from Palin to Tengri and found that there was “very poor quality of work, including CC culvert and earth-cutting.”
Alleging that the executing agency failed to implement the project as per the guidelines, the association said the people of Gumtung, Papu-Hote, Devegollo and Chamte-Mado villages are facing problems while commuting on the road, and that the matter should be addressed promptly.
