Orphan topper students felicitated

NAHARLAGUN, Jul 27: Orphan topper students of Classes 10 and 12 were felicitated in a programme organised by the All Arunachal Pradesh Orphan Welfare Society (AAPOWS) here on Saturday.
Motivating the students to “prepare for new heights of achievements,” former chief minister and Sagalee MLA Nabam Tuki advised them to be “mentally strong and physically fit to achieve your goals in life.”
Underlining the importance of NGOs working for
the destitute and the needy, Tuki described the AAPOWS as “guardian of several orphan children.”
He also stressed on the need to draft policies relating to the welfare of orphaned children, and urged the AAPOWS to take up the issue with the state government, assuring the organisation of his support in this regard.
ACCI president Tarh Nachung advised the students to work harder and set goals in life.
Among others, AAPOWS president YR Kiogi, vice president Tai Tadey, and general secretary Tadar Gungkap spoke.
Orphan children and students from various schools of the capital complex and other districts presented a cultural programme to mark the event.
