ITANAGAR, Aug 22: The Spices Board of India (SBoI) is inviting application from farmers of large and small cardamom for the 2019 crop season productivity award.
“Every year, the Spices Board honours the cardamom (large and small) farmers who harvest the maximum crop from their plantation. There will be three awards for both large and small cardamom, ie, one first prize and two second prizes, of which one is exclusively for women farmers,” the SBoI’s divisional office here stated in a release.
The award consists of cash prize of Rs 1 lakh as first prize, and Rs 50,000 as second prize, along with certificates of merit.
“Interested farmers can submit their application along with supporting documents, viz, proof of land ownership, copy of cardamom registration certificate/RTC, and a brief note on the cultivation techniques adopted, to the nearest SBoI office on or before 25 August,” it said.
