ITANAGAR, Aug 29: The Central Body-All Arunachal Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan Teachers’ Association (CB-AASSATA) in a representation to the education secretary on Thursday reminded her of the BJP’s assurance to regularize 400 posts of SSA teachers in the state.
In addition, it urged the department to reconsider the inclusion of tests for the regularization process.
It pointed out that, despite the government’s announcement, the department was “incompetent in executing the regularization process for ISSE (erstwhile SSA) teachers even after one year.”
The association suggested that the education department conduct teachers’ training or intensive courses in phases to boost the morale of the teachers, rather than conducting tests for regularization of the 400 posts.
It said more than 694 SSA teachers were regularized between 2003 and 2006 without any tests for PRTs and TGTs, based on the government notification, while teachers of the same batch, irrespective of their acquiring PRT or TGT, are still awaiting regularization, and termed the situation “unjustified.”
“Repeated examinations for the same posts for in-service teachers will not bring quality education but will demoralize the teachers’ teaching-learning process,” it said.
The association reiterated its appeal for reconsidering the inclusion of the word ‘test’ in the latest modalities for regularization of 400 posts exclusively for SSA teachers.
