SIMARI, Sep 2: The government polytechnic institute here in Lower Dibang Valley district organized a weeklong induction programme for its newly admitted students.
The institute’s Principal, Dr Abhijit Talukdar, said the induction programme was “designed for the first-semester students to acclimatize them to the new environment of the campus,” as has been made mandatory by the All India Council for Technical Education.
The students were given the opportunity to showcase their talents in creative arts, literature and sports, among other subjects. Resource persons were invited to deliver talks on current issues, including a presentation on drug abuse by Dr A Modi.
A prize distribution was also held during the valedictory function.
The induction programme was coordinated by the institute’s lecturer, Mitom Modi.
