ITANAGAR, Sept 4: Governor BD Mishra extended his warm greetings to each and every member of the teaching community of the state on the joyous occasion of Teachers’ Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of one of the most illustrious sons of India and former President, Bharat Ratna Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
In his message, the governor said that “with tributes to Dr Radhakrishnan, a versatile genius of India, let us also remember and honour our own teachers who have introduced us to letters and knowledge, who have guided us to the path of righteousness and morals, who have shaped our ideas about humanism and who have motivated us to be achievers in life.”
On the occasion, the governor sincerely congratulated those committed teachers, who, despite encountering many hardships, are imparting education to the younger generation in far-flung corners and remote areas in the state.
He appealed to all the teachers to cultivate knowledge, ethical values, hard work, punctuality and discipline amongst their students in particular and the student community in general.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has also conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the teaching fraternity of Arunachal Pradesh on occasion of Teacher’s Day.
“Parents give us life but teachers give life to our life,” Khandu said in a message while paying rich tributes to his teachers, who shaped his career, especially during the early years, to become what he is today.
Admitting the hardships faced by teachers posted in remote areas, Khandu said their contribution in shaping the future of Arunachal becomes all the more significant.
Further, the chief minister also paid tribute to Dr S Radhakrishnan, a great teacher and India’s second president, on whose birthday – 5th September – Teachers’ Day is celebrated in the country. (PROs to Raj Bhavan, CMO)
